Day Twenty-Five Cary, Illinois to . . . Home!

Getting out of Chicago in the morning . . on a weekday. . . in the pouring rain sucks. We avoided interstates and used various GPS apps to find alternate routes, but all of our efforts were in vain. We ended up sitting in soggy traffic regardless of anything we tried. Finally, we made it out of the traffic and closer to home. Across the middle of Illinois and then Indiana brought us through college towns housing Purdue, Indiana State, and finally Indianapolis. Once we reached Indy, we were only a few short hours from home. The rain let up once we reached the Ohio state line and the Cincinnati outer loop.

Pulling in to our driveway, we all sighed and grabbed some things to take into the house. The first items we usually tend to is taking in all of the food and dirty laundry. We cleaned out as much of the RV as we could quickly and saved the rest for later. Our son has soccer practice this evening, so we're getting ready for that too. The laundry went straight into the washer, and food into the fridge, freezer, and cabinets. Honestly, we didn't have much food left to put away, so we ended up getting carry-out from our favorite bagel sandwich shop for dinner.

Overall, the trip was obviously a success. I mean, look at the photographs of everything we saw. There's so much more we want to see - places of which we only got the slightest of glimpses. Our overall state goal is looking pretty good. Next summer we're hoping to do a shorter trip to Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas.

We hope you've enjoyed coming along for the ride on these adventures. It was truly a trip of a lifetime, well I guess a second trip of a lifetime.
